Welcome to Black Hills Deer Camp, LLC!
Black Hills Deer Camp is a living, breathing, family owned hunting camp, located in the remote, big woods of the beautiful Garden Peninsula in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Established in 1996, it is also the cornerstone of our company, Black Hills Deer Camp, LLC. We are not a game ranch nor do we have captive wildlife of any species. Our camp is used year round by family and friends for a variety of recreational pursuits in addition to hunting and fishing.
We are dedicated to and promote the wise use of our natural resources. In our view, responsible hunting is an important and integral component of that wise use. As wildlife managers, we also spend a significant, and we dare say enjoyable amount of time each year managing our property and forests for overall wildlife habitat enhancement. Our winged focus species include turkey, grouse, woodcock, duck and the occasional goose. Small game include snowshoe hare, rabbit and squirrel. Fur harvest opportunities exist for coyote, bobcat, fishers and marten. Big game enthusiasts find plentiful black bear and, of course, whitetail deer. Like most of you, we're still looking for Da Turdy Point Buck!
At our site, we will try to share articles and information of interest to other wildlife management devotees as well as information of general interest and benefit to those who might like to enjoy or contemplate creating their own nature retreat, primitive, fancy or somewhere in between. Through our online store, Cabin Livin', we offer an array of products we find particularly well suited to add character, cozy and comfort with style to your rustic cabin or camp or lodge.
After years of study, observation, success and failure, one thing that we can say with certainty is that we learn something new every day. We hope that you will feel welcome to use this site as a forum to share your interesting and valuable tidbits and experiences with other wildlife management, hunting and outdoor enthusiasts.
Thank you and come back and visit us soon!
